A few days ago Molemi and I took part in an Instagram Live Reading. My friend Olwethu Leshabane asked her followers if they’d be interested in a live reading for the kids as the Leshabane boys would love to do a reading.
Molemi and I raised our hands “I” and joined in. He read from his current read Max Einstein The Genius Experiment by James Patterson. Mikaili read from the Oxford Reading Tree series titled The Litter Queen
With this Covid-19 pandemic encouraging us to practice self-isolation and staying home, the children are surely going to begin getting cabin fever. This was a great way to get them off their screens playing games for an hour or two and just see each other since there won’t be any play dates for the next couple of weeks.
I am thinking of having this sort of reading take place at least twice a week with Molemi and any other mommy with kiddies who want to join in – till we are out of books to read! I’ll post about it on the socials once I’ve decided on the way forward.
Hope you’re keeping safe, and following instructions from our leaders to stay indoors, wash our hands and just stay put. Let’s all keep calm and not bulk in buy – be considerate for one another. We are in this together. We will go through this.
