So I’ve been struggling with catching up with my reading due to the 3rd Trimester exhaustion and life as a whole.
I’m currently reading book 5/6 of 2018. Slowly but surely I will get to the double digits. I finished an amazing debut (Book number 5/2018) by Ijangolet S Ogwang titled An Image in a Mirror released in May by Black Bird Books as part of BBB’s first release of 2018 (Yey!), I’ve missed out on the launch this week due to life yet again. It was a great turnout at Love Books, and the pictures tell that there was great interaction and engagement from Karabo Kgoleng and Ijangolet along with the audience in attendance. We wish you well Ijangolet on this new baby.
I’m also currently trying to finish off Redi Tlhabi’s Khwezi because I’ve been reading it for quite some time now, and I don’t want to go through the next season reading it. I am quite certain I’ve gone through two seasons of the year reading it – that’s how heavy reading about Fezekile Ntsukela Kuzwayo’s life in childhood, and in adulthood has been for me.
I want to know how you get yourself out of a slump when you’re book hungover because I think I’m seriously in a slump real bad. Good news is that I’ve begun again with Khwezi – should be done within the next 48 hours. Then my second book of May will begin – haven’t decided what it is but there is a pile of TBR’s which have been peering at me since the beginning of the year. And a close friend will be borrowing me Year of Yes soon… So many books, so little time!
So, don’t forget – comment with how you drag yourself out into a slump of real life and the love of reading books on this Africa Day!
